How Does the Barrow Reflex Mechanism Work?

One of the major influences of heart rate variability is indeed your barrow reflex. In our caroded sinus and in the aortic arch of the heart, we have these receptors, blood pressure receptors called barrow receptors. They're there to kind of monitor to see whether or not there are significant changes in an upward di ion of blood pressure. And then what it does as actually sends a signal via the vagus and glosso perangial nerve. Then also through the use of a neuro neuro chemical, neuro transmitter and neuro modulator called acita coline,. It sends a direct signal back up into the brain, into the medulla, that actually indicates to the body
