Nehru was a very lonely man. A large part of the of his party was sympathetic towards a certain kind of benign Hindu nationalism. If they had survived could we have prevented the rise of this more toxic and reactive Hindu Hindu nationalism that we have before us today? That's a separate question you know your book goes into far more detail than perhaps we have the time to but I'll just encourage all the listeners to buy it.
