The Role of the Sitter in Plant Medicine Ceremonies

The role of the sitter is really a hands off role and it's a westernized role so you can't really equate it with that of a practicing shaman or a true facilitator of the ceremonies. I think at a minimum takes two years, maybe three depending on the kinds of plant medicine you're working with. Some are easier to work with and some are just wily and much harder than others. The real skill is not only there but dosing knowing who shouldn't shouldn't do it. You don't have to replace the practice but you'll reduce a lot of the risks of injury to yourself and to others.
