The Trinitarian Reality of Salvation
Paul speaks of faith, hope and love in ways that ground them in the triun god and his work. Under girding paul's understanding of salvation throughout is the reality and work of the father, son and spirit. Paul here speaks of the gospel as something that is at work within the world, acting in god's power,. actively bearing fruit among the colossians, as it is elsewhere. We could perhaps connect the three theological virtues with the trinitarian reality of salvation in this passage.
