This weekend's attempted coup has its roots in the battle for Baqmort. Pragoshan accused Russia's military leaders of treating his private army like cannon fodder. The Wagner Group marched on a Russian military base in Rostervondon and then began an armed advance to Moscow. But by Saturday night local time, Putin and Lukashenko had struck a deal allowing the Wagner Group to retreat.
