The Myth of the Old West

The idea of the Old West and the mythology around it's definitely lived longer than this actual historical timeframe, right? Which is still not even so clearly defined. So there's a place, the landscape, but also the chronology, that's sort of vague. And I guess that's part of where like the wildness quote unquote of the Wild West comes up: before long order fully took over. But really, most working cowboys were just a great workers, right? They're shepherding cattle with big, with they were armed more than being some kind of action hero.
