There may have been a pathway where they could have stayed in the deal, reimposed all the sanctions based on aron's support for terrorism and missile poliferation. And that was a position that people who were called the fixers at the time, were promoting,. But scort of academic president tromp decided he wasn't a fixer, he was a nixer, and he was going to get out of this deal and impose a maximum pressure campaign which became primarily a campaign of economic pressure. Other tools of american power were used selectively but you didn't see a comprehensive policy.
