Cinema in the Sixties, Right?
Censorship was sift shifting. There was this kind of perfect storm of something happening here in the late sixties and early seventies, right? Which kind of resulted in this wave of saucy lesbiean vampire movies,. Because everything had to be kind of implied in american cinema throughout that era. You know, they couldn't get away with actually showing lesbianism overtly on screen. It was just kind of hinted at but also there is this kind of negative connotation of it too.
