When I was in North Carolina, I had not put together the concept of machine and architecture. It wasn't until I got out here and, and started observing and living within this kind of stretched out elongated mechanical environment that I started really looking at the machine as a language for architecture. Um, it's 100% a response to Los Angeles' reliance on the mechanical tissue that connected all parts of life. Uh, we've always joked that the freeways are never not under construction. I mean, they're constantly, you know, breathing and becoming larger and larger and consuming more of the landscape with our mobile processes on them.
