The North Carolina Supreme Court's Concurrence on the Election Clause

The court didn't say that in great detail, but the word ordinary has that meaning. We have an integrated electoral system and if you're going to defer in the ordinary course to a state court decision when it involves a state election, gee, it makes no sense at all to try to have a different standard for federal elections. But I see no genuine cause for concern. Could they have been a little bit more clear? Yes, but I think it's clear enough...I wasn't sleeping well until this case came down.
