Right and left are characterized by the impulse to, out of fear, smash right. Civil rights movement balanced this incredibly urgent quest for justice with also fundamental respect for order. An institution is not an individual and it's not a mob, right? It's actually human beings coming together around some ordered set of goals and mission. And this is why christians should always have a predisposition to support change through institutions.
It’s been an eventful week, and for many a deeply troubling one. But of course, no matter what end of the political spectrum you come from, weeks like this seem increasingly common. The hits just keep on coming, as do the feelings of loss and fear. So how are we as Christians to navigate such deeply troubled times?
