I Think Charles the First Was Not a Successful King
I think there was a lot to admire about Charles the first as a private individual but he was not a successful king I mean self-evidently look at how things ended. He felt very much as if any challenge to his authority was a kind of a front on a sort of massive scale and that people feeling differently about things like for example religion to him was because they were questioning whether he should you know whether or not he was their king so he was prickly and imperious and arrogant and lots of things which didn't mean a lot that befell him was ultimately not if not quite of his own making it was something that he could have seen off or on about had he had
