The Transition From the Chemical to the Biochemical

It is a big puzzle how chemistry would self organize to form biological structures, something that we could start recognizing as life. There would have to be something built in into the loss of chemistry that pushes you towards that transition. It's neither in some sense randomness nor divine intervention. But it would imply that there is some law of nature that we are still trying to figure out.
