The US Marines Dropped a Mortar or a Rocket on Their Own People
The Iraq war, if you lived through it, covered it, maybe fought there. Feels like it was just yesterday, but this was 20 years ago now. The US invaded at the beginning of 2003 and within a few weeks defeated the Iraqi army. A new war was just beginning because a lot of Iraqis hated the American occupiers. It became the center of an insurgency that America would fight to this day.
