Is That a Sophist, or a Speaker of Truth?

A sophist, i guess, at one point, had a kind of academic meaningi's a teacher of rhetoric. But basically, it came to take on a negative meaning as did rhetoric in general. It was thought that rhetoriticians would just use language and tricks of word play and reasoning to confuse people and confound them. So that's essentially what he's accused of, as being a rhetoritician. And not whatever the alternative to that would be a speaker of truth,. or a true thinker, or an improver edutator, perhaps, would be the althora.
