I Am Poured Out Like Water
Can you imagine being surrounded by angry bulls or hungry lions? That's how jesus feels on the cross. Add to that the irony that jesus is the strongest bull of them all. And yet its death roaring at him, and he feels alone. In verse 14 and 15, i am poured out like water. Isaiah will draw upon that metaphor. An isaiah 53, as christ pours out his soul unto death, all my bones are out of joint. It is melted in the midst of my bowels. My strength is dried up like a pot shirt. And my tongue cleaveth to my jaws. And thou hast brought me into the dust of death.
