i would always let the actors do what they wanted to do because you get such organic wonderful contributions to a project when you allow for that but i also make sure i got the one that i knew in my head would work no matter what. if i could make that character not just read in i could actually read it into you in some way that you could react which is such a big part of acting reacting then then i was doing my job, he says.
