The Color of Carrots

The domesticated carrot, like the crop carrot, came from central and western asia. The first main carrots from that region were purple. And then at some point there was either a mutation or cultivation that led to yellow carrots. We don't start to get orange ones until around the 15 and 16 hundreds in europe.
