The First Deployment to Iraq

I got married right before this rotation. My grandmother passed away at that same time period, didn't get a lot of time to have any kind of anything with the family. So we were like, it's going to be a hot year. I mean, our PDSS, our pre-deployment site survey, we got in a gunfight and killed dudes in our PDSs. We actually took over and started doing the first counterterrorism operations with them side by side using our assets to bear but doing the true CT foreign internal defense mission.
