Is This the Fast That I Have Chosen?
verses three through five about what they were doing. verse four he says ye fast for strife and to bait and to smite with the fists of wickedness. Verse five is it such a fast that I have chosen, a day for man to afflict his soul? Is it to bow down his head as a bull rush or to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? Will thou call this a fast and an acceptable day of the Lord?
