Mycenan Mysticism

The name or title Patnea, referring to a female divinity as Lady or Mistress, is very common in the tablets. Vodith figurines were also common for Minoan goddesses and the Mycenians had scy and phy figurines that have been found all over the late Bronze Age Greece. Yet for all of their similarities, there were significant differences in rituals and practices between Mycenian and Minoan religions. The Minoans constructed sanctuaries in caves, on mountaintops and in the country villas but built no shrines outside separate from their central dwellings.
