Beethoven's Diary
Btween 18 15 and 18 19, he hardly wrote any notable music at all. Apart from his bad health, he was imbroaed in legal issues,. particulaly of the custody of his nephew. By this stage, his hearing was so bad that he couldn't actually have spoken conversations any more. He just couldn't hear people talking. And while he never became completely deaf, he couldn't hear not only talking, but also much of the music that he wrote. But ultimately, it wasn't until 18 18 that he began to consider returning to composition once again.
