Yewen G is sent to a labor camp in Mongolia. She gets past this book about how humanity is killing the planet and how maybe we got a point. There's some connections between kind of humanity's war on nature and the inherent violence of something like the Cultural Revolution. It was impossible to expect a moral awakening from humankind itself, she says.
