The Pedro Pan Kids are just overwhelmingly happy now that they're grown up to have been, quote, Americanized in the first place. It was traumatic for both of us. Those who left and those who stayed behind. The parents, sent children, were even seven and eight years old. And that was true for many other kids as well. We had no choice but to go through a rush of learning English and becoming Americanized.
