Socrates and Alcibiades
Alcibiades was Socrates' student and rumored lover, although that rumor apparently is not true. Alcibiades turned out to have a major hand in the fall of Athens over the next 20 years or so. He had a very high opinion of himself, which of course was justified by his accomplishments in life even early on. And he's really into self-aggrandizing and this request for glory and all that sort of stuff.
