The Northern Paradise of the Germanic Peoples
A greek mariner called pithyas sailed out from the part of Marseille which was then the greek city of Vasalia and he sailed out through the straits of Gibraltar. He came eventually to a land that he described as a land of ice and fog but it may possibly have been Iceland we're not quite sure. It also acquired the name hyperborea the land beyond the north wind barias being the north wind so this this notion of the mysterious northern lands really captured people's imaginations and various various people have cottoned onto it, including the Germans who romanticized tula in pre-Nazi period.
