Do Myths Have to Be True?

Do myths have to be true? Or do they start off maybe with a kernel of truth? And also, how does poetry or imagery help cement the meaning for the audience that resonates with the myth? Do you get what I'm asking there? Yeah, absolutely. So I think the best myths have a kernels of truth in them. They're rooted in something historical that actually happened in an event or an individual. But that's where the truth of it sort of ends. Because again, this isn't about, it's presented like it's telling a factual story, but it's really not.
