The Birthplace of Utopian Socialism

There is this idea that we have to begin constructing alternative ways of living and being in community within the belly of the beast as a form of trying to set an alternative. This takes a modern form I think in a certain segment of the co-op movement who believe it could be something that spreads throughout society. The kind of research that you're doing, I think, is really important to help understand how we got so rigidified in our ways of thinking about what life should look like. There's a white settler colonial mentality that underpins a lot of our day-to-day existence that many of us are just not really aware of.
