The Blues - The Story of a Young Jimmy
Jimmy's first exposure to the blues came around this time, when his father briefly took in lodgers cornell and ernestine benson. Ernesteine had a record collection that included records by lightning hopkins, howling wolf and muddy waters - all of whom jimmy became a big fan of. Jimmy was soaking up guitar instrumentals and garrage rock that would soon turn into surf music. The first song he learned to play was tull cool, one of the local group who popularized a version of louis louis based on holden's "tull cool" He also developed a fascination with the idea of angels, convinced his mother now was one.
