Jimmy's first exposure to the blues came around this time, when his father briefly took in lodgers cornell and ernestine benson. Ernesteine had a record collection that included records by lightning hopkins, howling wolf and muddy waters - all of whom jimmy became a big fan of. Jimmy was soaking up guitar instrumentals and garrage rock that would soon turn into surf music.
