The Political Cultural Significance of Spelling Africa With a K

During the 1970s, as African nations were gaining independence, black people in the US were thinking of themselves as a captive black nation. They tried to de-colonize themselves mentally by renaming themselves new Africans. There's also a lot of geographic significance that goes along with this - how do people rethink space and geography even as they rethink spellings and names? And so it's something I try to explore and provide a little analysis of in the book.
