I don't think it's possible to be certain that the market's going to co operate with your timing. The thing that makes it work is this very unrealistic, iron discipline. You put in your money in 19 27, 19 28, 19 29. And now you have 26 years when market, for the market to come back to where it was in 19 29. That surely would put a big dent in your retirement.
