As an adolescent, i spent a fair mar time in a monastery in france called tese. My parents were fundamentalist christians in some good and some not so good ways. The loyalty to the dead and the loyalty to what was just blew me away. And they reminded me of their uncles and my father, whom i grew up with in the netherlands after the second world war.
