Psychoanalytic ideas that to me in thinking about myself and thinking about OCD, it's really, again, a broad stroke, is basically that nothing real is ideal. And the same way as somebody with OCD has these symptoms that they can't just choose to stop doing,. They might have these underlying emotional factors underlying these issues that they can’t just choose to not have. The same exact thing can be said for the parents. But what we're getting at is that we're not blaming parents for being imperfect or limitations of their personality.
