"My book is a niche little gothic novel that is kind of in the vein of like an old school Count of Monte Cristo or Le Miserables," he says. "And I just think there's probably 1,000 to 2,000 people tops that would like such a strange little book like that." He sent query letters out to something like 120 different agencies with the idea that the best way to get a book published is to send it through a traditional publishing house.
