The Valarians and the Greyjoys
Stannis was named master of ships and Lord Admiral under Robert. The Valarians from that point on are sworn to the Baratheons, which go back a couple hundred years. Monfer died on the black water with his flagship. Ravelie took out two ships with him, but again, not in charge. It was Sir Emery Florent. Because the Florence are Stannis' in-laws. They're his wife's family. That's how these things tend to work.
