The Three Uses of the Vows

Not all glory is being put off. Following the way of the Lord Jesus Christ who is poor, chasing obedient does mean foregoing certain things that are goods in themselves on this side of eternity in favor of the promise goods of the kingdom. So we have to acknowledge that at a certain level, right? And I think specifically with respect to religious life, St. Thomas talks about these three uses of the vows or the evangelical councils. They limit the kind of care that we exercise for secondary goods and then they offer the whole of the person. It's in the life of heaven.
