UAE and Kuwait refused to recognise tens of thousands of Badun as citizens. The move left them stateless, but it still left these states with a problem. Statelessness is a problem for governments that are depriving people of citizenship. It makes people harder to keep tabs on. In this documentary, I'm taking a closer look at what citizenship is supposed to mean - and whether it lives up to its promises.
