The Failure of the Japanese Army in Burma
Operation Lonkcloth was a long-range penetration patrol in to Burma. It got the Japanese thinking, what we're seeing on our Western Frontier with India is a growing British military presence in Menapur. We went charging into Burma on one block with 3,000 men, and it didn't go very well. But that experience hit a number of failures in the Japanese army. They thought they'd be caught marshal for the loss of a third of his force, but he wasn't. That's another story.
