The Economic Cycle: What's Going On?

We've just seen a certain, certain doom and gloom predictions didn't quite come as we expected them to. The Europeans have now announced that we're not going to go into recession. Consumers are still spending. Even at the end of last year, we started to see numbers surprisingly high. We thought that the third quarter would be very anemic, no more than about 0.5% growth. And then we actually got the numbers.
