The Importance of Second Look Endoscopy
In general if you have fixed the problem there is no need for you to go back in during that hospitalization. Second look endoscopy is not a high value procedure unless you are convinced to do so by some clinical change. If you had an ulcer in the stomach it is standard of care to take another look back in about eight weeks with your PPIs. There's a chance that it was ulcerated because it was a cancer and if it didn't heal within eight weeks then that's a completely different management plan.
