Vlad Rakuel's Cruelty
We know practically nothing of Vlad's life during these 13 years, from 1462 to 1475. The Hungarians and the Ottomans had comparative peace along the Danube frontier. He was a friend and enemy to Mecmede II, the most successful Ottoman Sultan of the century. His reputation didn't die with him; he fought both for and against John Hunyadi.
