Is the Boomer's Flipping Houses a Good Idea?

I see the allure of the rental lifestyle. To me it's not a there's no arbitrage there in theory. You're paying up for the option. It comes at the question of like you're now having all this property being managed and acquired by large corporations. Is that a net good thing in the long run for the economy to have everyone be a renter and not an owner?
