How to Reduce Exclusionary Discipline in Schools
I've personally seen pressure on schools to reduce exclusionary discipline at any cost. Is it inevitable that a well-managed school, a non-chaotic school is going to have high rates of suspensions and exclusions? No, I think if a school is well-managed and has been run that way for a period of time, it's going to have very low rates of suspension and exclusions. The whole goal of what you're doing with all of these interventions is to normalise good behaviour. Really difficult kids can be integrated really well in high-functioning schools.
