How to Get a Certificate From a Certificate Authority
A certificate authority is just a certified body capable of issuing digital certificates and also serves as a root of trust. The client goes through its list of certificate authorities to check if it has that padlock set's get authority that issue the certificate for the server on its list of trusted set's get authorities. If it does then it initiates the connection and now they can exchange information and that's how your web pages are being rendered.
