The Aristotelian Idea of Leisure
Since discovering classical education I have been drawn to the emphasis on leisure and its ultimate importance or play. It's easy to get elitist when you start talking about this because there is an area in which the church has revised or altered what Aristotle had to say, he says. He suggests that the church rightly understood or Christianity rightly understood should resist this strenuously at least in its absolute form. The people with the least leisure are by far more virtuous and more virtue than people with vast sums in the bank according to him.
