Reconstruction of the Vietnam War

In the 70s and 80s, conservatives bought into elements of feminist critiques around questions of guilt and innocence in traumatic encounters. But they discarded larger critique feminists were making about violence against women within patriarchal structures such as the nuclear family. With this new conceptual innocence and hand conservatives then began a rethinking of the defeat in Vietnam and its implications for America leading to a new narrative about our involvement in the conflict.
