Doctors' Experiences with Disciplinary Notifications and Mental Health Challenges

The chapter explores the qualitative analysis of interviews with Australian and New Zealand doctors who received disciplinary notifications due to mental health issues, shedding light on the impact of regulatory responses and the struggles faced by practitioners. It reveals how many doctors delayed seeking help for mental health concerns out of fear of scrutiny and stigma, leading to severe health challenges.
