Is UPI a Platform or a Payment Network?
UPI is broken down into two layer, if you look at it. UPI itself is not one platform. We have 350 banks, 100 apps, many, many more apps and platforms, all on the same grid. So it's a network. Think of this like a fin internet, financial internet,. A very special purpose payment network, large scale payment network, interoperating. And that existed and the UPI took it to supercharge it for real time payments and allowed a brand new innovation layer on top of that.
