The science of Vedic pronunciation is extremely important to produce the desired present. So, Kalpa is another set of texts which tell us how to use the Vedic mantras as part of Vedic rituals. In grammar, there is Paneini sutras and Patanjali commentaries on Paneini's grammar. And then Ayurveda for the body. One needs to use language properly. But what to do, make sense of the sutras, you need a commentary. I've told this story, but today seems to be story time, so I'll tell you this story also.

Swami Sarvapriyananda teaches the Mundaka Upanishad which one of the major Upanishads belonging to the Atharva Veda. Mundaka means ''shaved'' like a shaved head. The teachings revealed in this Upanishad are meant to leave the student clean, or shaved of the veil of ignorance. Indeed, the study of this Upanishad has been traditionally confined to the shaven-heads, or the sannyasins, who have renounced everything and devoted themselves exclusively to contemplation.
