The Neolithic Village of Scarabre, Orkney
The village of Scarabre is in the West mainland of Orkney. It was discovered when a storm stripped off some sand from these dunes by the coast. The houses were actually left open for a long time after 1850 and did get a bit weathered. Gordon Child, very famous archaeologist, excavated the site in the late 1920s. He also excavated our seven which hadn't been exposed the elements before.
